It is characterized by its clearly curved („bullate“) leaves with a strongly textured surface, which give it a particularly archaic and exotic appearance. This form is particularly appreciated by specialized collectors, as it is clearly different from the smoother, finely feathered leaf forms of other Boswellia and has an extraordinary visual presence. Use Collector and lover plant ethnobotanically interesting form Ornamental plant for greenhouses, conservatories and pots Conservation of rare morphological variants Commercial use of the resin is not the main focus here - the value lies in the botanical peculiarity. Growing the seeds The cultivation of Boswellia bullata basically corresponds to that of other drought-loving Boswellia species. Substrate: very mineral (e.g. 60 % sand, 30 % pumice or gravel, 10 % low-humus soil) Sowing: Place the seeds on top and press down only lightly, do not bury deeply Humidity: evenly slightly moist, no waterlogging Temperature: ideal 22-28 °C Light: bright, no blazing midday sun for seedlings Germination time: 2-6 weeks After germination, the young plants should be slowly acclimatized to drier conditions. Waterlogging is the most common mistake. Worth knowing The term „bullata“ comes from the Latin and means „blistered, arched“. In botany, it describes leaves with a clearly raised, structured surface. Such characteristics often result from local adaptation to extreme environmental conditions such as strong sunlight, wind and drought. Many of these forms are not genetically strictly separated from related populations, but represent ecological variants - which makes them particularly exciting for collectors. Legal notice These seeds are offered exclusively for botanical, horticultural and collector's purposes. The cultivation and possession of certain plants may be subject to legal restrictions in individual countries. Please inform yourself in advance about the applicable regulations in your country.
