Larger quantities on request! Sowing instructions The "Dalmatin" seeds are easy to grow in your garden or on the balcony. The ideal sowing time is from mid-May, when there is no longer any risk of frost. Sow the beans about 3 cm deep in the soil, with a distance of 30-40 cm between the plants. The soil should be well-drained and rich in nutrients. It is best to choose a sunny location - the "Dalmatin" beans love the warmth! Make sure to water the plants regularly, especially during dry periods. You can harvest the first beans within around 8-10 weeks. Harvest, use & storage Dalmatian beans offer you a rich harvest from June to September. You can harvest them as soon as the pods are plump and firm. Freshly harvested beans are ideal for salads, soups or as a side dish. They have a mild flavor and retain their beautiful black and white pattern even when cooked. For longer storage, you can either dry or freeze the beans. When drying, make sure that the beans dry out completely in an airy, dry place. Tips & Tricks If you want your beans to grow particularly well, you can regularly mound up the plants to improve their stability. It is also advisable to grow a mixed crop with carrots or cabbage - these support the growth of the beans. However, avoid growing them next to onions or garlic, as these can inhibit growth. Worth knowing The "Dalmatin" bean is not only an eye-catcher in the bed, but also a real source of protein. It belongs to the bush bean family and therefore does not require climbing aids. Originally from Central America, it quickly became popular in Europe due to its robust growth. With its high fiber and vitamin content, it is a valuable part of a balanced diet.
